Ensuring Gender-Equitable Cybercrime Reduction

In 2008, only 4% of sample-size cases of all gender-based violence cases were reported to formal authorities such as the Philippine National Police (3), which currently has a Women and Children Cybercrime Protection Unit. Undetected and underreported gender-based cybercrimes, further brought by sociocultural blinders of dismissal and fear of retalliation, cannot completely be put to justice by unhampered surveillance across all platforms and location.
